Exfoliate! Ready to tan? Start by exfoliating your skin.

If you plan to use the tanning drops in a body moisturizer, first use a loofah, exfoliating pad, or a body scrub to gently get rid of dead skin cells – our self tanning application kit will give you all the tools you need for a perfect tan. This will help make sure your tan last as long as possible. Give your feet, ankles, wrists and elbows a little moisturizing love beforehand to help make sure they don’t end up darker than your body (these are extra porous areas). Finally, wait a day or two after shaving before using our self tanner. If you're using the drops with a facial moisturizer, exfoliate with a facial exfoliator. 

Drop in that product and apply

Pump desired amount of your favorite lotion or cream and add 3-15 drops of tanner to it. More drops will give you a deeper tan, however we recommend starting with less drops to build up to your goal tan. Use 3-6 drops for a light sun-kissed color; 7-10 drops for a medium-golden color; and 11-15 drops for a deep tan. Then, apply evenly. Wash your hands immediately after use, or skip the mess by applying with a facial kabuki brush, body kabuki brush, or self tanning mitts. 

Maintain that GLOW!

Your skin should reach your desired color within 6 hours. If it doesn’t, reapply the following day. We find that reapplying every 4-7 days is best for maintaining color, but do what works best for you. Enjoy your sunny, golden skin! Add tanning drops to your daily moisturizer for longest lasting results.

  • The active ingredient in our self tanner drops is DHA, a sugar derivative that gives the top layer of the skin a bronzed glow. Non-GMO and overflowing with plant-based goodness. It’s backed up by a carefully selected combination of supporting ingredients, including organic aloe vera leaf juice, organic avocado oil, and organic cucumber and matrcaria extract.

  • We can’t pinpoint the exact number of days – that will vary based on your application method and how many drops you're using, skin type, and how often you reapply. Many of our customers who have left self tanner reviews report that their tan lasted 5-7 days.

  • Uh-uh, no way. We never use parabens, phthalates, sulfates, artificial fragrances, or any other junk that has no business getting near your skin. And that rule applies to all our products, not just our self tanner drops.

  • Any self tanner will leave streaks if it’s not used correctly, but with good technique our self tanner drops are primed to give you an even glow. If you really want great results, our spa-quality facial kabuki brush and body brush are the perfect applicators to effectively work your moisturizer/lotion in. 

  • Our self tanning drops can provide great color, but it won’t protect you from the sun as it does not contain SPF ingredients. Make sure to keep up with your sunscreen routine no matter how often you use our tanner.

  • Well that's up to you, love! We find the self tanning drops pair best with our hyaluronic acid cream. 

  • Our self tanner is filled with natural ingredients that are gentle on sensitive skin—especially when paired with a moisturizer/lotion your skin already loves. However, with any new product, it’s always a good idea to do a test patch before using it on larger areas.

  • As often as needed! Keep an eye on your tan, and when it starts to fade go ahead and reapply. Most customers find that their tan lasts about 7 days before fading, but if you notice a difference sooner, there’s no reason not to reapply.

Added this to my skincare regimen and so glad I did. I have sensitive skin that easily breaks out with a lot on these tanning drops. This stuff works to give a natural glow when added to your moisturizer. I USUALLY do this at night because it does have a sort of sticky feeling + it gives it time to process. However when in a bind I have done it during the day and just put some powder over it and it’s not noticeable!!!

Best self tanner EVER

I normally don’t write reviews for a lot of the products I buy, but this is one worth reviewing. I am on a never-ending quest to find the clean, safest, nontoxic health and beauty products. This is hands-down, the best self tanner I have ever used. As a highly sensitive person with multiple chemical sensitivity most self tanners make me feel very very ill. I had zero reactions with this self tanner. You just add a few drops to your lotion and it creates the most beautiful natural color with no harmful side effects or toxicity feeling. I will order this product again and again and again. So happy I found this and highly recommend this product to everyone, but especially for people who have multiple chemical sensitivity and want a little natural color on their skin.

Best subtle, easy, non-toxic tanner Ive found

Im very pale (freckles, reddish blonde) and this tanner (I bought ‘light’) works very well and looks very natural. I tried Lux Tan after reading those product reviews on the quality of color (which was very good) but the smell was overwhelming and gave me headaches. This tanner barely smells at all and Ive been very pleased with results when I mix it with my usual moisturizer. It has not rubbed off on my clothes that Ive noticed, but I do give at least 15 min before getting dressed and Im mindful about what I put on after applying (no skinny white straps etc). It doesn’t last long but I dont mind applying it for above reasons so this is not a big deal to me. I use this sort of like jergens daily glow, except this one has almost no smell and there’s nothing in it which irritates my sensitive skin. I apply it in the morning.

I've been using the lotion for a beautiful, natural looking tan for awhile now but once I added the drops, this made all the difference. In the instructions they say to add the tanning drops to your moisturizer. I decided to try adding it to my tanning lotion instead and now my tan is amazing. Love these drops
