Ingredient List

Ever read the ingredients list on your favorite skincare product?

Not only are many of those ingredients impossible to pronounce, but some of them are downright dangerous. Explore our ingredient index and get the facts on your products' ingredients and their benefits or dangers.

Beauty Doesn’t Have to be Dangerous

There’s a lot of stuff out there that’s worth staying away from. That’s why we don’t put it in our products. Here are some of the things you’ll never find around here:

Parabens - Sure, they’ll keep your lotion from going bad, but we don’t know what their estrogen-mimicking effects will do in the long term. Who needs ‘em?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate - These two sulfates are often used as a cheap way to make soaps and shampoos foamy. They’re also a common ingredient in garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers. As appealing as that sounds, we’ll pass, especially since these ingredients can be contaminated with ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen.

Synthetic Fragrances - Synthetic (chemical) fragrances are one of the top causes of allergic reactions in skin care products. They’ll often show up as a single item on an ingredient list, but they can actually contain dozens of different ingredients. There has to be a better way to make yourself smell good.

Triclosan - Shows up as an anti-bacterial agent in many different soaps, deodorants, and detergents. It also shows up on the EPA’s list of pesticides. It’s suspected to interfere with human hormone function, and there’s a growing concern that it might be contributing to making bacteria resistant to antibiotics. No Thanks!

So what do we put in Beauty by Earth products?

Only stuff that we’d be happy to use for ourselves and our families. Natural, organic, and nourishing ingredients that are not only safe, but are actually beneficial to your health.

Beeswax is commonly used in skincare products as it is a surfactant and forms a protective barrier on the surface of the skin.  Beeswax is a naturally hydrating ingredient that increases essential moisture in skin and in the relief of itching from sensitive skin. It has an irritation potential of zero, so it will not cause irritation or clog pores, but rather provide a host of benefits such as general healing, antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral.
