step1: Exfoliate

step 1 exfoliate

Use a loofah, exfoliating pad, or a body scrub to gently get rid of dead skin cells.

step 2: apply

When you’re ready, apply a thin layer of self tanner evenly over your legs, arms, torso, and face (avoid your eyes).

step 3: maintain

Your skin should reach your desired color within 6 hours. If it doesn’t, reapply the following day.

Exfoliate.

Dry brush, exfoliation mitt, body scrub – any of these will do the trick.  You are looking to remove the dead skin cells to help your tan last.

Prep areas with loose skin.

Feet, ankles, knees, hands, wrists and elbows.  These extra porous areas need some lotion before you apply self tanner so they don’t end up too dark.  

Spritz and rub.

Simply spray our self tanner body spray wherever you would usually apply self tanner.  Rub the product into your skin (we recommend a self tanner mitt for this step) – the more the merrier on the rubbing in. 

Wait 4-6 hours for your glow to appear!

Letting our self tanner body mist develop will never feel like torture, we promise. Our self tanner body mist smells amazing, and will have you glowing up a storm, real quick.  Please avoid getting wet for the first 8 hours.

  • Great question! The light-medium self tanners are perfect for people with pink or cool undertones, fair skin, or those looking for a very subtle tan. The medium-dark self tanners are perfect for those with neutral, olive, or warm undertones or people looking for a deeper tan. As always our dye free self tanners can be used by any skin tone, you’ll just need to pick your level of tan and which version works best with your gorgeous undertones to create your ideal tan!


    (Note: For reference, if you’re an avid Beauty By Earth fan, our original self tanner lotion is considered medium-dark. So if this tanner worked great for you, so will our other medium-dark varieties!)

  • While we can't guarantee no streaks, we do have tips on the most flawless application so your left without the possibility of the pesky streaks. Use recommend using a mitt to help the tanner fully blend into your skin and go light around the dryer areas of your skin as they asorb quicker! 

  • Nope. Our lightweight self tanner body mist will sink into your skin and dry quickly, so you don’t have to worry about ruining your cute white bedding.

  • Our self tanner body mist smells like refreshing peppermint and sweet orange oil, with a hint of tropical coconut water. The smell won’t linger for long after you’ve applied it to your skin, and have let it dry.

  • For sure. If you choose to use our self tanner body spray more than once a week, you’ll notice that you get a deeper, lusher tan.
