Will self tanner hide my dark spots?

Will self tanner hide my dark spots?

ESTIMATE 2-MINUTES READ

Absolutely! Self tanners are formulated specifically to even out your skin tone and combat discoloration, including dark spots. The active ingredient in self tanners is dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This colorless sugar reacts with the amino acids on the top layer of your skin, and causes the melanin in that area to produce a darker color.

When using a self tanner, you should always exfoliate beforehand so that the product can be absorbed evenly into your skin. Pay extra attention when applying it around areas with dark spots as this will help them blend better. You may also want to use a lower concentration of DHA on these areas or choose one specifically formulated for sensitive skin if you have very light tones nearby. Or simply use an application glove to ensure accurate coverage without patches or streaks appearing where the product has been applied too heavily.

A great way to highlight results from using self tanner is by moisturizing afterward since it will help prolong its effects and keep your skin looking brighter and more even overall—even over dark spots! Additionally, sunscreen is an absolute must if planning on going out into direct sunlight; otherwise, all those efforts put in towards covering up those pesky blemishes might not be worth it come summertime!

For best results when using self tanner to hide dark spots:

1. Exfoliate before applying - Make sure that you exfoliate your entire body prior to using any self tanning product so that you remove all dead skin cells from the surface of your skin and create an even canvas for application. You can use a dry brush, exfoliating gloves, or even my fave, a sugar body scrub to get the perfect prep for your tan. Pay special attention to areas where there are discolorations or uneven pigmentation as those may need extra attention prior to application.

2. Start with a lighter shade – When selecting which type of bronze hue you want for your perfect glow, opt for one that is slightly lighter than what you feel is appropriate for you since the color will deepen over time with each application; it’s better err on the side of caution as opposed to going too deep right away!

3. Apply sparingly – Apply small amounts at a time rather than creating large patches across areas where there might be darker pigments present; this helps blend everything together more evenly beneath once its been applied so there are no unpleasant surprises afterwards! 4. Moisturize Regularly - (especially your face!) Keeping up with regular moisturizing routines post-application can also help keep things looking fresh longer while helping ward off future coloring issues such as fading away sooner than expected due lack luster hydration within certain zones during dry spells specifically.

I have dark age pods and some light ones over my body, my arms and my chest can this product cover the spots. This is why I’m interested in finding one that covers talk age spots, and white ones.
