You Look Like The Fourth of July
Everything you'll need to make this a reality this 4th of July:
Sunscreen
Some of the most popular 4th of July activities happen outdoors. Do you know what doesn't make you look like the Fourth of July though? Sunburn. Whether you're lake-bound, by the pool, or just kicking back to watch some fireworks, you've gotta make sure you're protected.
We all know how important it is to wear sunscreen, but sometimes we forget. (Or, we think we don't need to because we'll be in the shade.) No matter what your skin tone is, you can get sunburned. And no one wants that! Not only does it hurt, but it also damages your skin. So make sure you put on sunscreen before you go outside - even if you're just going to be sitting in the shade.
We recommend using a mineral sunscreen like Beauty by Earth's Mineral Sunscreen SPF 25. It's perfect for all skin types and won't leave you feeling greasy or icky. And it's important to reapply every two hours, so make sure you have some with you!
Our 4th of July rec in particular is the new sunscreen sprays. They're as easy to apply as they are to take on-the-go, making them great to pack along for your festivities. They come in 4 amazing scents as well, so no longer will your 4th have that typical sunscreen scent as the theme.
In the event you do get a touch of sun damage, take away some of that firecracker feeling with Beauty by Earth's after sun cooling spray. It contains aloe vera, among other skin-soothing ingredients.
Vitamin C Serum
One of the best things you can do for your skin is to use a vitamin c serum.
We love Beauty By Earth's Vitamin C Serum because it brightens skin, reduces wrinkles, and helps protect against sun damage. Just apply a few drops to your face before applying sunscreen and you're good to go! You'll rival the glow of a sparkler the whole day through.
If you want to get into the nitty-gritty on this serum, read our product spotlight here. And, keep that glow going past the 4th of July by following tips found in How to Brighten Skin With Vitamin C.
Other favorites from the line include the toner and moisturizing cream. Altogether, they pack a serious punch of antioxidants for your skin.
Tanner
Another way to say you look like the Fourth of July on the day itself is by putting in some easy prep work before—especially if you'll be rocking shorts or swimwear. Even out that skin tone and add a touch of color with Beauty By Earth's tanning line. You'll make every bend and snap sensational. (Additional shameless Elle Woods + Legally Blonde reference.)
We've recently been obsessed with the tanning drops because they can be added easily to your regular moisturizer. The color payoff is also totally customizable. If you're wanting a bit more oomph, though, and you've got the time, we always stand by more options like the lotion or mousse. Add in the kabuki body blending brush and you're bound for success.
Legally Blonde fan or not, we know if you look like the Fourth of July, you're feeling good. By the graces of Jennifer Coolidge, this Independence Day is the perfect time to show your skin some love. So, get prepped! Including those hotdogs.
