Meet Beauty by Earth
If you’re not familiar with us, we’re a clean beauty brand that makes natural and organic skincare, haircare, and self tanners. All of our products are made without harsh chemicals like sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, petrochemicals, and artificial fragrances. We also refuse to sell in retailers or on any sales platform where animal testing happens.
Way back in January 2014, our founders’ dream of a clean beauty brand became a reality. We jumped in with both feet and launched our first product on Amazon—our 100% organic Argan oil—by April 2014.
Sure, we were balancing running our new business while maintaining our day jobs and supporting two growing families. But we knew Beauty by Earth was going to be a game-changer. Turns out we were absolutely right!
We’ve come a long way, and none of this would be possible if it weren’t for YOU supporting our clean beauty mission.
What the World Was Like When We Were Born in 2014
The world has changed A LOT since we first launched in January of 2014. Here’s a fun review of some of the changes we’ve seen in the past 8 years:
2014
2014 is the year of the hoverboard! Elusive, yet genius engineers are finally making these futuristic dreams a reality.
Disney announces that it will be releasing an animated movie called “Frozen.” It’s an instant sensation! And if you were a parent back then (like we were) you remember the endless rounds of “LET IT GO!” belted out by every 2-8-year-old girl around.
Apple releases the iPhone 4s with Tim Cook at the helm. Remember this guy? It was so much smaller than the phones we’ve grown accustomed to these days, but was *AMAZING* by 2014 standards. Oh year, and you had to be on 4g networks, because 5g wasn’t a thing. . .
Beauty by Earth launched our first product on Amazon—our 100% organic Argan oil—in April 2014.
2015
The Avengers movies release their newest addition to the franchise, titled “Age of Ultron”, this May.
The Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland was opened this year, featuring their newest animatronic creation–Buzz’s best friend, companion robot Zurg!
Apple releases its first line of smartwatches in September. 😱 Now, you can get notifications no matter where you are or what you’re doing. There were pros and cons in our book to this level of connectedness.
Beauty by Earth launched its first website! Environmental Working Group gives our products top ratings and we sell over 50 thousand units. It’s a pretty big year for our small company!
2016
The Olympics were held this year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The U.S.’s Michael Phelps wins 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal, bringing his total number of Olympic medals to 23 gold medals and 28 medals overall.
The first-ever self-driving cars are being tested on public roads this year. Google has already logged their 3 millionth mile of testing out these new, high-tech vehicles!
After 2 years in business, Beauty by Earth expands our scope to include international shoppers from 20 different countries, including Canada. There was a lot of confetti-sweeping in HQ, we can assure you!
2017
It’s 2017. Meghan & Prince Harry released their much-coveted engagement photos, Beyonce announces her pregnancy on Instagram. It’s a BIG DEAL!
The Amazon Echo was released this year! The Amazon Echo is an electronic device that can listen to voice commands given by its user. Set your music–playlists, radio stations, etc., set alarms, get weather updates, and so much more!
Last but not least—Beauty by Earth launches our wholesale program. We’re now offering deep discounts to businesses that resell our goods and the partnerships we’re building are truly incredible.
Now with 40 products in our catalog, we end the year feeling pretty proud of our 365 days-labor of love.
2018
For us, 2018 is a year of awards. We’re selected as both the Official Best Skincare in Texas and win the Indie Beauty Awards (Best in show Eye Treatment). It’s entirely possible we’re still glowing with joy! Oh, and don’t forget that we open our new HQ in Denton, Texas—minutes from the city’s vibrant downtown scene.
2019
Disneyland opens a new themed area of their park: Galaxy’s Edge! It’s filled with Star Wars-themed attractions and rides. Star Wars lovers are obsessed.
Apple releases its first line of electric cars. The price is astronomical at $250,000 a piece, but that’s no deterrent for those who can afford it!
In 2019, our BBE team grows to 16! We offer our first internships, expand our product line to feature 70 unique, crazy-effective beauty products, and rank among America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Inc. 5000. Tired? No, not us! (We’ve got coffee always on hand.)

Beauty by Earth continues booming! We launch 15 new products including hand sanitizer, face masks, sunscreen sticks, and more!
